Erg Chigaga — Remote Luxury Desert, 4 Days

Late on the second afternoon the tarmac ends. The 4x4 carries on where the road will not, climbing the last track towards Erg Chigaga, the remoter of Morocco's two great dune seas. By the time the camp comes into view the light has gone low and gold across the sand, and the only lights you will see after dark are your own.

It suits couples and pairs who want the Sahara without company — travellers for whom distance is the point rather than the obstacle, and who would rather reach the quieter erg than the easy one.
