Casablanca Layover — Hassan II Mosque, Habous & Art Deco
An hour after landing, you are standing where the Hassan II Mosque meets the Atlantic, its minaret rising above the breakwater while the city carries on behind you. A layover in Casablanca need not be spent in a lounge — three to five hours is enough to see the city properly, if every minute is planned around your flight.
It suits travellers in transit: a long connection, an early arrival before a hotel check-in, or a final morning before flying home. The route is built backwards from your departure time, with a margin your driver respects without being asked.
The route moves from the mosque to the Habous quarter — arcaded lanes built in the 1930s, where the bakeries and bookshops are still working ones — then through the Art Deco streets of the centre, façades from the city's French-era building boom. At the end, a smooth return to the airport or your hotel, timed so that you arrive composed rather than rushed.
